  • Day Before Earth Day

Oh Blog how I’ve ignored you. But probably need to visit a bit more often as I’m home alone these days. So much has happened since the beginning of the year. Where does one begin.

    • The Democrats have all but officially nominated Biden as their candidate for President.
    • I ran a bunch of races, including a few 1/2 marathons.
    • I went to Key West and visited the Dry Tortugas, which as a dream trip.
    • Oh and then a virus was reported in China, and some people were worried about it, and then other people weren’t.
    • Then the Virus escaped and has virtually shut down most of the world. It is the Corona Virus, also known as COVID-19, and Wuhan Virus where it first became an epidemic. Now it is considered a Pandemic.

There is an irony going to the Dry Tortugas during the beginning of the breakout of an epidemic. This is the place where Dr. Mudd found out how to stop Yellow Fever. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Mudd

I think that the world is at a crossroads right now. I’ll talk more about that tomorrow in the blog. My world is at a point where I’m going to clear up some loose ends, and move forward with life. Good time to get that spring cleaning done in many regards.

  • A Cool Day in Southern California

A Cool Day in Southern California

So I have returned for a quick weekend trip to Southern California, where I can eat comfort food and visit with family. While I did enjoy a good In-N-Out burger, at least at this point in my life, i’m finding food not to be as big of a deal as I once did. I have been eating a plant based, Non-Processed food diet and it really changes your mindset when it comes to eating.

I ate this right when I got off the plane. But this last Wednesday I ate an Impossible Burger. It is a plant based burger that tastes just like ground beef. I heard about it on Freakonomics and then really wanted to try it. I think they have something extraordinary going on there, and I would like to see that succeed.

Traveling has been good lately, finding decent prices for airfare and getting to visit my friends and family more often is such a good thing. Even though I do stay busy with so much stuff, that is one thing that I can regularly look forward to.

Well it is a cool day in Southern California and I am taking in the views. Can’t believe how much things change and how much they stay the same. But seeing snow on the mountains is probably one of those things I do miss. Looking up to see those white caps on a sunny day. It is the best!
