Why Same Sex Marriage is not the same as Gay Marriage.

So I was pondering an interesting thought. In Adam Sandler’s movie, “I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry.” Two straight guys get married to be able to get health insurance.
I just heard the needle on the record scratch…. Yeah, this just became the law of the land. And even more different than before, because love doesn’t have to enter the equation.
Anyone can now pretty much marry anyone, if you’re willing to do so. Why? Say, to help someone gain citizenship, use your medical benefits, and all the myriad preconceived “bennies” that you get for being married.
Will we see a trend towards straight people getting married? That’s a good question? As people delay marriage into their 30’s and 40’s… It does have me wonder, as a student of sociology. I perceive that it will become a potential issue for the military who discriminate privileges for Married people vs Single. The financial benefit for being married in the military is definitely significant.
Will there be some abuse? Probably. More than what opposite sex couples are doing? I’m thinking it will be less.

But in the big scheme of things, it’s great that equal rights are for everyone, and it was the right thing to do.
